The outer parenchyma cells have large substomatal and intercellular spaces surrounded by a thick-wall hypodermis and contain numerous starch granules. The inner parenchyma cells are thin-walled, contain some starch granules, and form a compact, succulent tissue with only small intercellular spaces that surrounds the bean seed. SEM X6
