Last panel closes world record breaking span to connect Vladivostok to Russky Island

ITAR-TASS: PRIMORYE TERRITORY, RUSSIA. APRIL 12, 2012. Builders installing the last closing panel to connect both sides of the bridge, at the construction site of the bridge to Russky island over the Eastern Bosphorus Straight, the world's largest cable-stayed bridge. Its central span is 1104 m long, which is a record in the world bridgebuilding. Its two A-shaped pylons are 320.9-m-tall. The top point of the giant support including the superstructure is at the height of 324 meters above the sea level. The new bridge, which is to link Vladivostok to Russki [Russian] Island, is to be built in time for the 2012 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Vladivostok. (Photo ITAR-TASS/ Yury Smityuk)
