Berlin - Tacheles

A tourist takes a picture of the staircase at Art House Tacheles in Berlin, Germany, 31 May 2012. The home to alternative art and culuture scenes used to be a shopping center. The building was damaged in the war and because it was in the way of GDR city planning, it was demolished step by step. In February 1990 50 artists from East and West Germany squatted the building, saving the valuable remains of the former shopping centre. Photo: Hannibal Hanschke
