(120628) -- SANGAM, June 28, 2012 (Xinhua) -- Hindu pilgrims trek through the last camp towards the cave near Sangam, 126 km north of Srinagar, summer capital of Indian controlled Kashmir on June 27, 2012. The annual pilgrimage to the Hindu shrine began on June 25 amid tight security measures. Hindu devotees from all over India visit the shrine to pay their obeisance to an ice stalagmite in a cave perched high in Baltal around 3,888 meters above sea level. According to region's tourist department 635,000 pilgrims visited the holy cave last year. (Xinhua/Li Yigang) (msq)
