U.S. Forest Service serviceman Matt Young patrols Pike National Forest and manages "hotspots" in the ground that can potentially ignite in to flames. The Waldo Canyon fire is a forest fire that started three miles west of Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 23, 2012. As of July 5, it is still burning but more than 90% contained in the Pike National Forest. 1,500 firefighters were in Colorado Springs from around the country, and currently, 776 remain in the area.
