Senkaku Islands

epa03311934 Hiroyuki Kurahara, younger brother of the owner of the disputed Senkaku islands, holds a photo of a large tuna fish caught near the islands at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, 20 July 2012. The uninhabited islands are controlled by Japan but are also claimed by China and Taiwan. Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara has announced a plan to have the Tokyo Metropolitan Government purchase three of the islands. The announcement has drawn harsh criticism from China, according to Japanese news reports. EPA/EVERETT KENNEDY BROWN
