An official at St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, said on 15 August 2012, that Moon, 92, has been gravely ill and placed under intensive care at the hospital with respiratory problems. Born in what is now North Korea, Moon founded the church in South Korea in 1954, one year after the Korean War ended.
