Japanese activists stage protest on Uotsuri Island
epa03365328 (FILE) A file picture dated 27 April 2005 shows an aerial view of Uotsuri Island, one of the disputed Senkaku islands in the East China Sea, claimed by Japan, China and Taiwan. Japanese activists of the group Gambare Nippon (Hang In There Japan) landed on Uotsuri early 19 August 2012, thus escalating the long-running dispute that was aggravated on 15 August 2012 when Japan detained 14 Chinese and Hong Kong activists who had landed on the islands.
