China stocks jump most in three weeks on market support prospect

Chinas stocks jumped the most in three weeks on speculation the government will announce measures to bolster the equities market after the Shanghai Composite Index fell below the 2,000 level on Wednesday (26 September 2012). The Shanghai Composite rallied 2.9 % to 2,061.83 as of 1:34 p.m. Thursday, heading for the biggest gain since September, 7. The index surged in the afternoon session after ending the morning up 0.3 %.
