Excavation works at St. Ursula continue

epa03444968 Archeologists resume works at the base of an altar found in the former convent of St. Ursula in Florence, Italy, 24 October 2012, where they believe that the remains of the alleged 'model' for Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Lisa Gherardini Del Giocondo, were buried. La Gioconda, as the Italians call the Mona Lisa because of the surname of her husband, del Giocondo, is believed to have joined the Ursuline nuns in old age. EPA/CARLO FERRARO
