Lockheed's 40' x 80' thermal vacuum chamber in Sunnyvale simulates both the near vacuum of space and the diurnal heating and cooling of a satellite's orbital movement

Lockheed's 40' x 80' thermal vacuum chamber in Sunnyvale simulates both the near vacuum of space and the diurnal heating and cooling of a satellite's orbital movement.  The Hubble Space Telescope and Milstar are among the satellites which have been tested in this facility. The chamber is scaled to the payload bay of the Space Shuttle.
