Multi-million-dollar steel loop project just an eye feast

A 157-meter-high steel loop that costs nearly a hundred million yuan is taking shape in a small town in Fushun City of northeast Chinas Liaoning Province, the Shenyang Evening News reported. Dubbed the Ring of Life, the giant building is designed by the same architect in charge of the design of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Shanghai, the newspaper reported. The ring is equivalent to a 50-floor building in height and has used 3,500 tons of iron and steel to build. Workers have installed 12,000 LED lights on the structure. The paper said the developer initially intended to add a bungee jump platform, but gave up the idea because the ring is too high for bungee jumpers, said a local construction bureau official surnamed Li.
