Monarch Cave Anasazi Indian Ruins, Cedar Mesa, Utah

This beautiful 800-year-old Anasazi ruin is located high in an alcove with only one very narrow access way. This ensures a highly defensible position to help keep out marauding tribes. At the bottom of the canyon some 100 feet below lies a very large spring-fed pool, ensuring that the Anasazi community could exist in the harsh desert environment.
