MEXICO-GOMEZ PALACIO-SECURITY-OPERATION

(121220) -- GOMEZ PALACIO, Dec. 20, 2012 (Xinhua) -- Federal police elements participate in an operation at the Socical Reintegration Center No. 2 (Cereso), located in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico, on Dec. 19, 2012. At least 11 prisoners and six guards were killed on Tuesday in an alleged escape attempt at the Cereso. After the clashes, authorities evacuated the total inmates of the prison and tranfferred to other centers as part of preventive measures, according to local press. (Xinhua/Str) (py)
