Josyf Slipyj, Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church
Josyf Slipyj (February 1892 – September 1984) was a Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and a Cardinal of the Catholic Church. After the fall of the Soviet Union the relics of Cardinal Slipyj were returned to St. George's Cathedral in Lviv in 1992. During the return ceremony the faithful were lining the streets holding posters of him.
