Horsemeat found in beefburgers wipes £300m off Tesco market value
Dublin, Ireland. 8th June 2012 -- File Image: A horse, believed to be used for transport, is tethered to a row of Tesco's trolleys at Clare Hall Shopping Center in Dublin. -- Silvercrest, an Irish company, has sold beefburgers to Tesco which contained 29 per cent horse meat. A total of 27 products were analysed, with 10 of them containing horse DNA and 23 containing pig DNA. The supermarkets shares plummeted 1%.
