Snakes become best-sellers as Chinese New Year nears

A Chinese wholesaler displays toy snakes in his shop at a wholesale market in Beijing, China, 13 January 2013. Snakes are the best-sellers across China as the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is approaching. Chinese people go to local supermarkets, shopping malls and local commodity markets to buy everything related with snakes from toys and gold to paper-cuts and even real snakes. The Spring Festival falls on February 10 and this year is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac.
