Free-standing steel awning structure, in a Zero Net Energy community
UC Davis West Village is the largest “zero net energy” (ZNE) community in the U.S.A., generating as much energy as it consumes. West Village, on the University of California Davis campus, is a mixed-use neighborhood of student and faculty housing with recreational facilities. West Village uses green conservation building practices and renewable energy generation techniques, such as solar panels, along with moveable sunscreens and bioswales to capture rainwater.
