Horse meat scandal

Horse meat scandal

epa03585377 A package of spaghetti bolognese by ready meal company Findus is on display with other frozen ready meals in a food store in London, Britain, 15 February 2013. Ready meal suppliers are facing losses as an increasing number of households in the UK are dropping processed food from their shopping lists following the horsemeat scandal. Findus, who had withdrawn their lasagne products after tests showed they contained horse meat instead of purely beef, said in a statement they had been deceived by their supplier and are planning legal action. Meanwhile the Food Standard Agency is expected to announce the first results of tests on processed beef products, including the number of samples, the number of positive results and the affected products.
