Al Capone's Cell, Eastern State Penitentiary

A view looking into Al Capone's cell at Eastern State Penitentiary. The famous Chicago gangster spent eight months of a one year sentence for concealed weapons, at Eastern State Penitentiary in 1929. His cell contained an oriental rug, fine furniture, including a cabinet radio. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the correctional facility operated from 1829 through 1971, when it was closed.
