Nakhon ratchasima, Thailand. 4th March 2013 -- A pan of freshly caught shellfish is cooked as a simple breakfast. These shellfish, known locally as Hoi Kreng Noi, are found in many northeastern rivers and streams and make a welcome change to what is often a limited diet of rice and chilli paste. -- The northeast of Thailand, whilst being the major rice growing region of the country, is also the poorest. Villagers life for many revolves around a daily existence of finding food for the next meal and escaping the searing midday heat.
