The Gammarelli garment firm has been in business for 200 years, crafting the papal robes for much of that time.The small, family-owned tailor shop is located within Rome's historic center, where over they years they made numerous white cassocks. Lorenzo is one of the owners, and says he can recall dates of when they started making the vestments for Popes.The three white cassocks on display in the shop window are made with 100 percent wool and the sleeves with silk. The red mozzetta they use over their shoulders is made of velvet,"
