Mount Etna spews lava and gas in renewed eruption

Catania, Italy. 6th March 2013 -- Lava spews from the throat of the volcano. Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology has recently registered increased explosive activity by the volcano, Italy's Civil Protection agency said. -- Mount Etna sent lava and gas shooting up into the sky in what is considered a big eruption for the volcano. Etna is Europe's tallest active volcano with several inhabited villages on the slopes of Mount Etna. Some flights were cancelled.
