Nakhon ratchasima, Thailand. 10th March 2013 -- Two elderly women discuss the hardships of life in a northeast Thai village. Many youngsters prefer to try their hand at making money in Thailand's cities, leaving villages often deserted or with only an increasingly elderly population. -- General conditions for Thailand's elderly in the northeast provinces of the country remain hard, particularly for those living in more rural villages. Many use rainwater for drinking and grow chilis to eat with sticky rice, the staple diet.
