Diamond shoes costing over $419,000 a pair - named as 'world's most expensive'
These precious shoes could make Cinderella, or even Carrie Bradshaw, jealous. Encrusted with scores of white diamonds the sparkling heals have been named 'the world's most expensive shoes' - costing a whopping $419,000 USD a pair. Designed by New Zealand shoe expert Kathryn Wilson, each 21.18 carat gem was painstakingly applied with tweezers, fine lace and embellishments - a process taking over 50 hours. Wilson, from Auckland, teamed-up with specialist jeweler Sarah Hutchings to create the opulent footwear. I love Kathryn's work and I have a life-long passion for shoes so it seemed like the perfect project, said Hutchings, from the Orsini Fine Jewellery company in NZ.
