The Founders of the MIA, The Islamic Movement of Azawad (French: Mouvement islamique de l'Azawad, MIA), Chek Ag Aouessa (R) et Ag Bi Bi Almada, sokesman (L), in Kigal. The Islamic Movement of Azawads a movement resulting from a split of Ansar Dine in January 2013, following the French intervention (operation Serval) in Mali.The group says it dissociates from Ansar Dine and wants to negotiate for a peaceful settlement of the crisis in Mali.
