After rains devastate Uttarakhand, floods threaten parts of New Delhi
Delhi, India. 19th June 2013 -- A boat of the Flood Control Department of the Delhi State Governmant is seen in the background. It is amongst the dozens of such boats on standby to rescue people affected by the floods. -- In the past few days, rains and cloudbursts have caused widespread devastation in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. Now the waters have reached the plains, and the overflowing river Yamuna threatens to flood parts of New Delhi in a way not seen since 1978.
