A woman carrying her granddaughter looks at a memorial depicting the unfolding of events when a train was swept off its tracks during the 2004 tsunami at an anniversary for victims in Peraliya, 90km (56 miles) south of Colombo, December 26, 2010. Over 1,200 bodies were recovered from the scene following the 2004 Asian tsunami on Boxing Day. Hundreds of memorial events were held across Asia on Sunday in memory of the towering waves that crashed ashore with little warning on December 26, 2004, killing 226,000 people in 13 countries.
