Thais flock to temples to commemorate the Lord Buddha's first sermon
Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. 22nd July 2013 -- A Buddhist monk's bowl is filled to the brim with rice offered by devotees at a temple in Nakhon Ratchasima province on Asalha Puja Day. Sometimes referred to as Dhamma Day, it commemorates the Lord Buddha's first sermon to his disciples. -- Thais across the country flocked to temples making offerings of food and necessary requisites to monks as they commemorated one of the most sacred days in Buddhism marking the Lord Buddha's first sermon to his first five disciples.
