The day is one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar and commemorates the Buddha's first sermon. -- Thais across the country flocked to temples making offerings of food and necessary requisites to monks as they commemorated one of the most sacred days in Buddhism marking the Lord Buddha's first sermon to his first five disciples.
