Nakhon Ratchasima Candle Festival at start of Buddhist Lent
Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. 26th July 2013 -- An intricately carved yellow wax candle sculpted in the form of a mythical Garuda figures seen here in the northeast Thai city of Nakhon Ratchasima. The magnificent works of art are paraded through the streets at the beginning of the Buddhist lent. -- Each year at the start of the Buddhist rains retreat, magnificently carved yellow candles depicting scenes from the life of the Lord Buddha, mythical figures and tributes to His Majesty the King are paraded through the streets of Nakhon Ratchasima.
