Nakhon Ratchasima Candle Festival at start of Buddhist Lent
Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. 26th July 2013 -- An intricately carved wax statue in the form of the Lord Buddha seen here in the northeast city of Nakhon Ratchasima. The magnificent works of candle art are made each year and paraded through the streets at the beginning of the Buddhist lent. -- Each year at the start of the Buddhist rains retreat, magnificently carved yellow candles depicting scenes from the life of the Lord Buddha, mythical figures and tributes to His Majesty the King are paraded through the streets of Nakhon Ratchasima.
