Wild squirrel supplements meagre diet in rural Thailand

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. 27th July 2013 -- An elderly Thai grandmother smiles as she holds up wild squirrels she has caught earlier in the day. Like many other elderly people living in rural villages she makes a small income from selling animals such as these, charging 50 US cents a piece. -- An elderly Thai woman nicknamed Grandmother Mee, supplements her diet and earns a small income by catching wild squirrels to sell in her village. The animals are often grilled and eaten with sticky rice and sell for around 50 US cents each.
