Bamboo Basket Weaving in the Thai northeastern province of Yasothon

Yasothon, Thailand. 6th September 2013 -- Almost finished bamboo baskets seen here drying in the sun. Once finished, these baskets used for steaming rice, are sold for around 35 baht (approximately US.00) a piece. -- Villagers in a small community in the northeast province of Yasothon have devoted themselves to the age-old production of handmade bamboo baskets, a type used daily for the steaming of the popular glutinous rice that forms the region's staple diet.
