Surin, Thailand. 6th September 2013 -- Elephants are led into the forest every afternoon before returning home. This is one of the initiatives instigated by the Surin Project, a group working to improve the living conditions of captive Asian elephants. -- Ban Tha Klang Elephant village forms part of an ancient Kui community that has raised elephants for hundreds of years. The Kui reject the employment of elephants in hard labour such as logging, which is more popular in the north of Thailand.
