Mrs. John Creighton of Baldwin, L.I., who, according to Inspector Harold R. King of the Nassau County police, confessed she had killed Mrs. Ada Applegate with arsenic, is shown above with Detective Robinson at Mineola, N.Y., after she made the alleged confession. Mr. and Mrs. Creighton and their 15-year-old daughter, Ruth, shared a bungalow with the late Mrs. Applegate, former American Legion commander. Applegate, according to Inspector King, was named by Mrs. Creighton as having plotted the murder with her. Applegate is already under arrest on a charge of criminal intimacy with Ruth Creighton.
