The number of people killed in an al-Qaeda-linked attack on an upmarket Nairobi shopping mall has risen to 68 on 23 September, according to the media reports. More than 1,000 people were rescued from the mall after militants of the Somali Islamist group al-Shabaab entered the mall on 21 September and opened fire on shoppers, injuring at least 300 people.
