(131002) -- NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2013 (Xinhua) -- A trader works at the New York Stock Exchange in New York, Oct. 2, 2013. U.S. stocks shaved earlier losses but still ended in negative territory Wednesday, as the U.S. government shutdown entered its second day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 58.56 points, or 0.39 percent, to 15,133.14 points. The Standard & Poor's 500-stock Index dipped 1.13 points, or 0.07 percent, to 1,693.87 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index edged down 2.96 points, or 0.08 percent, to 3,815.02 points. (Xinhua/Wang Lei)
