Erich Priebke's funeral

Erich Priebke's funeral

People gather outside the church of Lefebvriani to protest against Erich Priebke's funeral on October 15, 2013 in Albano Laziale, Italy. The funeral of Erich Priebke, a former SS officer convicted of participating in the massacre of 335 citizens in Italy during World War II will now take place at the Lefebvriani Chapel in Albano Laziale, after the Catholic Church announced in a statement soon after his death that 'no public funeral would be granted to him in the city or outskirts of Rome'. His burial is not yet settled after his German hometown refused to allow his burial there. ANSA/ANGELO CARCONI
