Assateague wild ponies are directed to a pen to receive medical treatment during the semi-annual round-up and check-up on Assateague Island off the Virginia Coast October 26, 2013. The Assateague wild ponies, a huge draw for tourists, have roamed the beaches, pine forest, and salt marsh of Assateague Island since the 1600s.
