CHINA-LHASA-JOKHANG TEMPLE-PILGRIMAGE (CN)

(131106) -- LHASA, Nov. 6, 2013 (Xinhua) -- Buddhists circle the Jokhang Temple, a destination of pilgrimage, on the Porgor (or Barkhor) Street to offer prayers, in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Nov. 6, 2013. Sacred temples in Lhasa, the Jokhang Temple for instance, receive more pilgrims in winter, a slack season for farming. Rolling prayer wheels, practising prostrations, or simply chanting Buddhist mantras, the pilgrims have various ways to fulfill their lifetime religious pursuits.(Xinhua/Purbu Zhaxi) (mt)
