A mile high and free as a bird, Al Spanich plummets earthward after jumping from a plane over Valley Forge Airport in Audubon, PA. He is a member of the Delaware Valley Parachute Club, formed by men and women who play the new sport of ‘sky diving." Spanich spreads his legs and arms to keep from tumbling over and over as he drops giddily through space before opening his chute. On this jump, he hurtled earthward for 20 seconds, and reached a speed of 125 miles an hour before pulling his ripcord.
