Original caption: 8/18/1961-Berlin, Germany- Grim-faced East German workers, under the watchful eyes of the Communist police, erect a high, concrete wall at a sector border near Potzdamer Platz. Five truckloads of bricklayers and laborers drove into the huge square during the night and built a concrete barrier 150-feet long, five feet high, and three-feet thick.
