Phyllis Diller Looking Shocked

Phyllis Diller Looking Shocked

Original caption: 9/7/1961-San Francisco, CA- At a screening set up especially for Phyllis Diller of Warner Brothers' "Splendor in the Grass," which Elia Kazan directed from William Inge's screenplay about life in the 1920's, the blonde comedienne had a look at herself for the first time in her first film role. Portraying Texas Guinan, the famous bistro hostess ("Hello, suckers"), Phyllis registered several emotions... nervous anticipation; is that me? Yes, it is!(shown here, glasses askew). And finally, sheer exhaustion.
