Original caption:7/31/1939-Cleveland, OH-A policeman looks on while a fireman rushes with an extinguisher to attempt salvage on the car overturned and set on fire during the riot that raged outside the Fisher Body Plant in Cleveland this morning. More that 2,000 strike pickets and their sympathizers clashed with non-striking workers when the latter group arrived to report for work. An estimated thirty-five persons were injured, two seriously, before police broke up the battle with tear gas and high-pressure water hoses.
