Roosting Franquet's Fruit Bat

Roosting Franquet's Fruit Bat

This species of fruit bat is a shy creature and lives high in the rainforest canopy. Franquet's fruit bat lives on the juices of rainforest fruit, pulping the fruit's flesh and sucking up the liquid. Since the fruit bats do not require good hearing to find food they have small ears. However they do have excellent eyesight and a keen sense of smell. Strong claws and feet grasp branches firmly so the bats may roost.
