Cuban President Castro addresses audience during closing of economists conference

Cuban President Fidel Castro laughs while addressing the audience at the closing of a conference of economists critical of economic globalization and free market policies, in Havana, Cuba on February 12, 2005. Castro said that Cuba's communist state is rising from the ashes again "like the phoenix," of its post-Soviet crash with greater control over its economy and help from China and Venezuela.
