Crowds at Royal Wedding

Crowds at Royal Wedding

Original caption: These first originals of the royal wedding were flown from England immediately after the wedding by American overseas airlines. Pictured above is a general view-elevation shot, of the enormous crowds that jammed London's famed Trafalgar Square as the royal coach bearing King George VI and Princess Elizabeth turned into Whitehall enroute from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey for the marriage of the princess to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Escorting the coach are members of the household cavalry. In the background is Admiralty Arch.
