The Navy announced that it has obtained photos of the hull of the nuclear submarine, Thresher, shown here in a 1961 file photo, which went down in 8,500 feet of water with her 129-man crew on April 10, 1963. Photos were taken by a task group headed by the deep-diving bathyscaph Trieste II, about 200 miles east of Cape Cod.
