"Grandparents need grandchildren to keep the changing world alive for them," said Dr. Mead, where observations of our changing world often have dramatic impact." "And grandchildren need grandparents to help them know who they are and to give them a sense of human experience in a world they cannot know." The world renowned Anthropologist became a grandmother on October 9, 1969. Sevanne is the daughter of Dr. Mead's daughter Mary and her husband Bartev Kassarjian, an Armenian who teaches linguistics at Harvard.
